Is the new corvette the new supercar? If you are a kid living the American dream, chances are you might have heard of or perhaps even see a Corvette. Perhaps you have seen a C1 roadster model or a coupe parked at the parking lot of one of those high rise hotels in your area? Or perhaps you have seen a Corvette convertible in a movie drive down the road as the girl gets mystified by the hunk driving the brawny car. That is a real American. A real American where heroes and beautiful ladies rode
Corvette has been in the American auto scene for awhile and it has taken its own share of beatings and failed expectations. The opening of new luxury cars and sporting machines has given the Corvette a new chance in the 20th century which included the C8 (2008) and the Z06 who has been touted as a best buy, precision driven supercar.
Right now, General Motors are planning for the next generation of fantastic off the road Corvettes which has been christened the C7. It is at this point that GM is taking the challenge of placing their Corvette to the global market where it could show its grace and speed at the showrooms in Europe, Asia, and Australia.
Corvette as everyone in the luxury car world knows, that, it does not play on the arena of cheap manufactured automobiles. Taking the C7 global may well be a business venture that is well thought of. Others say that the new Corvette will not make it to the international market because of constraints in the fuel economy that is expected to hit by 2020.
GM is taking up measures and preparing for this possible onslaught of the world market which would probably mean that the 2011 model won’t be launched early and most likely be shown to the public in 2012.
