Maybe there are no other rather than Carroll Shelby that is able to bring a great effect in the world of car racing and design. Even to date, Carroll has fulfilled the dream of many for cars having such high performance. Late in the 50’s, Carroll himself is a car racer, and started from 1959, he fulfilled his own dream for the most outstanding performance of car by manufacturing what is so called Shelby American.

During these early years and even up to now, the initial most successful car ever built was AC Cobra. This most sought car used British AC Ace, completed with V8 Engine from Ford, producing the outstanding speed in the class of convertible roadster. It also became the limited edition ones, with only 1003 cars that are built or shipped during 1965-1970.

Besides manufacturing its own vehicle, Shelby also assisted many car companies in producing excellent performance for numerous cars. The notable Shelby Mustangs, both GT500 and GT350 produced in 1960’s became the unique Mustang that even could not be compared to Ford. This mutual relationship continues to these days producing Shelby Mustang.

Besides Ford, Shelby has also become the great part in the history of Chrysler to end their history of low performance cars. It was only in 1999 that Shelby Automotive started its own new era by designing the car completely. The Shelby Series 1 was the result of this production, becoming their first sport car with outstanding performance. With its limited production, people can only have 249 cars in the whole world.

Though unrelated to Carroll Shelby, Jerod Shelby has been able to produce a supercar named Shelby SSC Ultimate Aero. This is one example of the success of American engineering with V8 engine producing more than 1000hp, making it the fastest car ever produced by Guinness Book of Records. With such a bargain, this car is absolutely a legend to be possessed in the history of American automotive.
