In the fall of 2007, the Audi of United States of America announced that it would be ushering into the United States Market the 2008 RS4 in its showrooms. Previously the German Automobile maker had stated that they would not be providing this model in the United States market. Details pertaining to its price and equipment were not provided at that time. However an official from the company announced that such details would be communicated to the public at a later date.

A limited number of 300 units were bound for the United States market for a start. A closer look at the engine showed that the RS4 was equipped with a 420- horsepower 4.2 liter V8 FSI engine. It has a capacity to deliver 317 pound-feet of torsion at 5,500 rpm. The RS4 only operates with a six-speed manual transmission and a four wheel drive. It flashes the 19-inch RS4 alloy wheels and a suspension that is sports tuned. The price range was between USD 65,000- and USD 72,000-. A destination charge of about USD 800- was to be paid separately from the amount.

At that time Audi RS4 was to provide two new preference packages. The first being the atomic number 22 package. This included 19-inch RS4-panache alloy wheels. Also all in a sexy black were the front grille, a piano internal trim, a headliner and side window moldings. Appealing to the feminine eye was the Audi deluxe package. The all romantic red covering leather seat centers and door trim. This cerise also features on the shift boot and steering wheel. Also provided were the softly black internal trim and carpeted mats with the logo, RS4. The black and red coloring in these packages gives the RS4 a titillating look. It now comes with a satellite radio and cellular system as standard equipment.
